Reporting to the Senior Director, Machine Learning, the senior web developer will be a key member of a small tight knit team, driving our products forward by designing and building all aspects of our software systems.
Responsibilities:
• Given product requirements, determine the technical design and implementation of new products and features — keeping in mind the scope, robustness, scalability, and performance.
• Review other engineers’ code to help ensure quality and goals match our standards and patterns.
• Support over 12,000 drivers using our product across 12 different countries as a part of our small start-up team with the backing of a larger organization.
• Interpret product features to distill technical requirements and categorize them into logical pieces of work.
• Uphold our culture of high-test coverage and setting up monitoring to maintain good visibility into our system.
• Act as the engineer on call on a weekly rotating schedule.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Thrives in an environment where ownership, curiosity and self-drive are critical.
• Good knowledge of Python, Flask, SQLalchemy ORM, PostgreSQL.
• Willingness to learn new languages & frameworks
• Comfortable wearing many hats — we still operate as a Startup within a larger ecosystem
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Experience with MongoDB and Cassandra an asset.
• Hands on experience with Machine Learning, an asset.
