Job summary
The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign invites applications for a tenure-track bioinformatics/quantitative biology position (full time, 9 months) at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Department of Comparative Biosciences. Outstanding scientists who conduct research in a quantitative biology discipline including bioinformatics, cancer genomics, biostatistics molecular epidemiology and toxicology, and computational neuroscience are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in investigators who have a strong experimental biology background. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the bioinformatic component of multidisciplinary teams and to collaborate with colleagues to obtain meaningful information from multi-omics datasets to address questions relevant to both basic science and clinical translation.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., DVM, or an equivalent doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Candidates who would like to be considered at the rank of Associate Professor must have an outstanding track record of publications and funding. Candidates should have a cutting-edge research program, a strong publication record and evidence of their potential to compete successfully for extramural funds. Applicants with a cross-disciplinary research portfolio are also encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to contribute to teaching in the graduate and professional (DVM, MD) curricula.
