The Experimental & Computational Physics Group is seeking outstanding staff members to join a growing, multidisciplinary team of theorists and experimentalists to solve mission-relevant challenges.

You meet the minimum qualifications if you...

  • Possess a PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Have a strong desire to work in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, applied science environment.
  • Are willing to occasionally travel to sponsor sites, conferences and workshops.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and need to meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To ensure the safety and well-being of the community, APL has established a policy requiring that all staff be vaccinated against COVID-19. All staff members must provide proof of full vaccination or have an approved medical or religious accommodation by their start date.

You will go above and beyond the minimum requirements if you...

  • Have data analysis, physics simulation, or other coding experience.
  • Have experience working in a laboratory setting and performing research involving electronics, lasers, cryogenics, RF devices, quantum information, microelectronics, fiber optics, or materials science.
  • Have an active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance.
