Job summary
The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in astrophysics with a preference for extragalactic astrophysics. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2023. We seek candidates with a demonstrated potential to successfully develop an independent, externally funded research program that will complement and strengthen current research in the department. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and encouraged to utilize the observational, computational, and educational facilities at UNT. A Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or Physics, and postdoctoral research experience, is required; both observers and theorists will be considered for the position.
