Job summary
The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, as part of the Materials Science & Engineering Initiative, invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in experimental materials and condensed matter physics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level focusing on novel quantum and advanced functional materials. Specific expertise is sought in synthesis of bulk single crystal (using, e.g., floating zone, flux, vapor transport and other methods) as well as characterization (both structural and physical properties). Candidates with a strong record of publication in the field of quantum and advanced materials and with a strong commitment to research and teaching are especially encouraged to apply. We seek scholars who are seriously committed to applying inclusive undergraduate and graduate mentoring practices, and to applying inclusive teaching practices of undergraduate courses. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be hired at the Associate Professor level.
